Once upon a time, not so long ago, Marcos Rojo leaving Manchester United didn’t seem a surprising idea. The Argentine defender didn’t appear to be an important player for Jose Mourinho and his form for the club showed little reason to change that.

However, Rojo is now a changed man, playing with aggression and impressing Mourinho enough that now a transfer in January would seem very unlikely indeed.

Valencia are having a torrid season and are looking to add some quality in the winter window, and Rojo is said to be a major option for the Spanish club.

Jose Mourinho’s will is key in any potential transfer, and he’s surely keen to keep the player.

Sport say that it could all depend on what Valencia offer as a transfer fee, but Manchester United certainly don’t need the cash and won’t part with a player Mourinho wants to keep.
