Japhet Tanganga is yet to decide what to do this summer, as he waits for Tottenham to decide what to do with him first.

That’s according to his agent Roberto de Fenti, who has confirmed they are in something of a holding position, waiting for Tottenham to make their choice.

Tanganga had been tipped to be the next big thing out of Tottenham when he emerged under Jose Mourinho but has endured a difficult few years since his departure from the club.

He headed out on loan to Augsburg in the summer transfer window, but that loan deal failed to work out, with him barely featuring before being sent back to Tottenham in January and then sent to Millwall for the remainder of the season.

He’s been featuring regularly for the Championship side, getting the game time that wasn’t on offer at Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou.

His performances may have put him on the radar for clubs ahead of the summer, when he could be a free agent.

His current deal with Tottenham is set to expire, although they have an option to extend it by another year should they wish. If that doesn’t happen, his agent would welcome bids from big clubs elsewhere.

“I don’t really like talking about one of my clients,” he told Calcio Napoli 24 Live.

“He has a particular contract with Tottenham, who can exercise the option for another year, otherwise he will be free. We should wait for a date to see what happens.

“How can you not consider Napoli? The player was close to Milan a year and a half ago. Naples is a top club on a national and international level. Should there be any interest we would be happy.”
