Another day brings another confident claim in Italy on the future of Emre Can.

Linked with a move to Juventus, there’s a belief in Italy that even if the Liverpool player doesn’t arrive in January he’ll be in Turin come the summer.

Liverpool are in a difficult situation with Can’s contract expiring at the end of June, the German international can now negotiate a contract and even sign an agreement with another club and there’s nothing Jurgen Klopp can do about it.

In their Sunday edition, Gazzetta dello Sport say there’s been ‘great manoeuvres’ on the potential transfer and he’ll arrive at Juventus in June unless there’s any ‘surprises’.

Juventus have been excellent at sourcing free and cheap transfers in recent years and Can would be another name on that list.

From the player’s perspective a move to Juventus will not only mean a genuine title challenge every season but also what the Italian newspaper describe as a ‘top player’ contract.

There’s a big financial benefit to leaving on a free transfer, and that makes it more difficult for Liverpool to tempt Can with a generous renewal offer.
