Brazilian youngster Estêvão has been urged to think carefully about a move to Chelsea, as Brighton, Nottingham Forest or Wolverhampton Wanderers would be better destinations for him.

Journalist Bruno Andrade covers the youngster today as reports in Brazil consistently link him with a move to Chelsea in the near future.

The Blues are reportedly pushing to try and get a deal for the highly rated youngster over the line, with clubs in Europe eyeing him up as he continues his rapid rise at Palmeiras.

He would be the latest in a long line of Brazilian youngsters to make a stir in their home country early on before making the switch to Europe.

The success rate on that front is often hit and miss, though, with more players falling by the wayside and ultimately disappearing rather than becoming a success.

This is certainly something big clubs have been accused of in the past, signing young players and then letting them be swallowed up by the system and ultimately proving to be failures.

That’s something Andrade is concerned could happened with Estêvão, suggesting that clubs such as Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Wolves would be much better for him.

“The Brazilian market is already looking with great suspicion at the departure of young talents to two powerful English clubs: Chelsea and Manchester City (City Group, in this case). Many players end up loaned several times, undervalued and, to make matters worse, some even “forgotten”.

“Lucas Piazon is one of the most striking cases. The list also has Wallace, Kenedy, Yan Couto, Kayky, Arthur Sales, Metinho, Savinho (???), etc. And it can increase – everyone hopes not – with Ângelo, David Washington, Andrey Santos, among others.

“Therefore, there are those who increasingly advocate transfers to not so powerful clubs, but with strong appreciation/resale power: Benfica, Porto, Sporting, Ajax, PSV, Monaco, Nottingham Forest, Brighton, Wolverhampton, Leverkusen, etc.”
