Last week, rumours from the European media claimed São Paulo have been monitoring Willian’s situation at Fulham.

The winger’s contract with the Whites expires at the end of the season, and with no deal for a renewal yet, any club can dream of his signing.

But this story has barely reached the Brazilian press and is already ruled out by local journalists.

Journalist Jorge Nicola comes up with a video telling a few reasons why Willian is unlikely to return to his home country at this stage.

The first motive is that the winger has been doing well at Fulham, with three goals and three assists in 21 appearances, and is well settled at a club who’ve been having a positive campaign in the Premier League under Marco Silva.

The second is the financial matter, as São Paulo wouldn’t be able to match the salary he has at the Craven Cottage. And the third reason is the bad situation he found in Brazil last year, as he was targeted by threats from Corinthians fans, and already claimed he’s a lot happier in London, where he feels like his family is safer.

Nicola claims ‘there isn’t any chance’ Willian will return to Brazil this year. And when saying the player is staying in Europe, the journalist claims he’ll ‘possibly’ have his contract renewed by Fulham.
