It’s hard not to believe Valencia will make some efforts to sign Sandro Ramirez from Everton in the January transfer market.

Several Spanish outlets have been reporting the news this week. Marca said the La Liga side would try a permanent transfer, while Mundo Deportivo would go for a loan deal.

And it’s the second option which is backed up by Deporte Valenciano. They claim that due to the player’s big salary in England, Valencia would have to take him on a loan while Everton continue to pay for part of his wages.

Currently struggling to have a starting spot at the Toffees, the website claims that Sandro is looking for a place where ‘he can play and have protagonism’.

There’s much confidence that Valencia will be signing two or three players in January, and Sandro seems to be on top of the list. According to Deporte Valenciano, the deal could be done ‘in the next few weeks’.

That Everton will continue to pay part of the player’s wages is covered so briefly it’s presented as the most natural outcome, but surely that’s not how the English club would feel.

Given the Spanish media have been talking up Valencia’s desire for Sandro, it seems odd for Everton to be expected to take such a hit so willingly. On that note, the same Deporte Valenciano today suggest Valencia are looking primarily for a back-up striker, who could be stuck on the bench, so won’t invest big bucks… which all seems like talking Sandro desire down after talking it up so much.
