Having failed to leave Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, Christian Eriksen finally got his transfer wish fulfilled in the January window after Inter Milan secured his services.
Though there were reports of interest from several other clubs, it was only really Antonio Comte’s side who pushed for a deal.
The 27-year-old has given a lengthy interview to Sky Italia and FcInterNews have managed to get a few comments from the preview.
Eriksen has taken a dig at Spurs by stating he has better chances of winning silverware at the San Siro than at the north London club.
“Winning is one of the reasons I’m here. Compared to where I was before, there are more chances of winning here,” the former Ajax man said.
He came close to winning the Champions League with Tottenham last season as they lost the final to Liverpool.
Eriksen’s last trophy was with Ajax and he’s now hopeful of lifting one trophy with the Serie A side this season. Inter are in the race for the league, the Europa League and the Coppa Italia.
“Losing the Champions League final was a huge disappointment. One of those moments you would like to forget. I am here to win and start something new. The last time I won I was at Ajax, many years ago,” Eriksen explained.
“We hope to start winning here again. I hope it is possible to win the title and I think there is a possibility. I wouldn’t say it’s all in our hands, but we have to think game after game.
“Juve has been winning for many years and know what they are doing. However, we must not lose touch, then let’s see how it will end.
“My goal is to win something. I came here to win titles. In the middle of the season we are running in three competitions and we can do it. We hope to raise a trophy at the end of the season, it would be the icing on the cake.”
