Everton are showing an interest in West Ham United’s Maxwel Cornet and Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana as they look to add a winger before the end of the window.

That’s according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, who says both are on the list at Everton as their work continues to reshape Sean Dyche’s squad.

The Toffees have turned their attention to a winger after securing the signing of striker Beto this week, another of their priorities from the beginning of the window.

They have been keen on Leeds United’s Wilfried Gnonto all summer, but the Championship side are not interested in doing a deal and Everton appear to have given up for now.

They now appear to be looking at other options and according to Genuardi, Cornet can ‘count on the interest’ of those in charge at Goodison Park.

He’s being ‘pushed towards the exit’ by West Ham as he is seemingly no longer part of their plans and there are ‘discussions underway’ with Everton about a move, according to the journalist.

How much West Ham want for the Ivorian remains to be seen given they paid Burnley €20.7m for him last summer.

It was at Turf Moor where the winger worked under Sean Dyche, with him managing seven goals and two assists in 22 games under him and perhaps that is where Everton’s interest is coming from.

Sulemana, meanwhile, is ‘another target’ for the Toffees according to Genuardi. Whether he means in addition to Cornet or another name on their list isn’t made clear.

He’s remained as Southampton since their relegation last season and featured under Russell Martin at the beginning of this campaign.

Whether the Saints are interested in selling, or he wants out, isn’t clear but Everton’s interest is a longstanding one given they also chased him in January. Indeed, Sulemana ended up choosing Southampton over them at the time.

Now Everton are back and keen again as it seems they step up their efforts to further strengthen before Friday’s deadline.
