According to claims in the Italian media Cagliari are interested in Juventus defender Filippo Romagna, but first they must offload Bartosz Salamon. The Poland international has been linked with a move to Leeds United in the past week.

Unione Sarda have reported Cagliari are still in the market for a central defender after Bruno Alves left the club in May to sign for Rangers. Leeds United’s Bellusci has been touted as possible option for the Serie A club to fill the void left by the Portugal international, and now Romagna is also a possibility for the Cagliari to replace Salamon.

The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Serie B side Brescia, and it’s certain he won’t break into the Juventus first team during the next campaign. However, Cagliari first need to find a club for Salamon, and according to Unione Sarda Leeds United and Palermo are possible destinations.

There have been claims in the Italian media Leeds United are interested in Salamon, but that started as the idea of an exchange with Cagliari for Bellusci. The 28 year old’s future at Elland Road is uncertain, with his agent recently stating they would be open to a return to Serie A this summer.

It’s likely if Salamon was to arrive at Leeds United this summer, then it would only be on the condition the Championship side can offload Bellusci to the Sardinian club. There seems no other reason for Leeds to be interested.
