Giuseppe Bellusci isn’t the most popular Leeds United player among the club’s fans, and it’s fair to say his return to the club wasn’t widely welcomed. Having spent the last season on loan at Empoli, Bellusci wasn’t expected to return to Elland Road this summer.
Empoli were relegated, which pretty much killed the chance of them making the loan from Leeds permanent, but Bellusci came out of the season reasonably well. There’s been interest, but not enough interest interest so far to take Bellusci close to a deal.
La Nuovo Sardegna suggest things could be about to change. Their defensive target Marco Andreolli is toying with signing for Cagliari, but the club aren’t too worried because if it all goes wrong they’ll dive in ‘headfirst’ for Bellusci.
Also mentioned is Leeds United’s interest in Cagliari’s Bartosz Salamon, who is being edged out. He had been expected to sign for La Liga club Las Palmas, but that was when Roberto De Zerbi was going to be the club’s new manager, now that deal is dead.
