Brighton & Hove Albion’s Neal Maupay is of interest to Salernitana this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport on Sunday.

The Serie A side’s president, Danilo Iervolino, and sporting director, Morgan De Sanctis, are active in the market to bolster their attacking division next season.

It’s claimed the Italian club have launched a new attack to sign the Brighton player and they did it by raising an offer for the 25-year-old.

Salernitana have made a €12m offer including bonuses, while Graham Potter’s side are asking for €15m for the Frenchman. Despite the difference, the newspaper states this is an ‘important proposal’, which brings the ‘parties very close’.

Corriere add the forward has already given his approval to Salernitana for a four-year deal worth €2.5m per season. Maupay’s contract at Brighton expires in 2023.

With Salernitana sending an improved offer to the English club and the former Brentford man giving his OK to them, the Serie A side now expect a quick reply from Brighton.

The report states Salernitana will ‘expect a response from Brighton by 9 this morning’.
