For the past two days, claims from Italy have stated West Ham United are looking at Piotr Zieliński after David Moyes asked the club’s board to sign a new attacking midfielder this summer.

The Hammers’ interest in the Napoli player is again highlighted in today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport.

It’s explained West Ham have ‘asked about’ the Poland international and also his club teammate, Fabián Ruiz.

The latter has less than 12 months left on his current deal and has not signed a new deal with the Serie A side so far. The London club also asked about the Spaniard, but have the former Real Betis man has reportedly turned them down.

After Fabián’s refusal, West Ham will concentrate on landing Zieliński. The report states they have made a €20m offer to Luciano Spalletti’s side for the Pole, but it was rejected as Napoli values him at €40m.

Apart from a lack of agreement with the Italian club, West Ham have also yet to convince Zieliński. That hasn’t put them off as Corriere states Moyes’ side will ‘continue to negotiate’.

If Zieliński were to leave Napoli, then they will shift their focus on Hellas Verona’s Antonín Barák.
