Earlier in the summer window, Southampton signed Mateusz Lis on a free transfer, after the goalkeeper terminated his contract with Turkish side Altay SK.

He is the fourth-choice keeper under Ralph Hassenhüttl’s orders, behind Gavin Bazunu, Alex McCarthy and Willy Caballero.

On August 25th, we carried a report from Meczyki.pl that stated Lis has received interest from FC Copenhagen and Sparta Praga, but Southampton are refusing to let him go out on loan.

It was also explained the Saints plan to include him in their plans once they manage to offload McCarthy. That hasn’t happened so far and a temporary move away from St Mary’s Stadium is on the cards for the Pole.

According to Goal France journalist Marc Mechenoua, Troyes are ‘expected to recruit’ the 25-year-old on a loan deal. The Ligue 1 side have been looking for a new custodian going forward this season and Hassenhüttl’s man could be the answer for them.

Having failed to make an appearance for Southampton, a temporary move to France could see Lis enjoy more game time this season.
