Nottingham Forest were forced to sign a new goalkeeper in the winter market after Dean Henderson, currently on loan from Manchester United, picked up a thigh injury in January.

The Tricky Trees ended up bringing in Keylor Navas on a short-term loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

Navas, who struggled to have regular game time at PSG, has been the first-choice stopper since he arrived at Nottingham Forest. He’s kept one clean sheet and conceded 25 goals in 13 Premier League games.

L’Equipe journalist Vincent Duluc, relayed by Sport.fr, isn’t pleased with the 36-year-old’s displays for Steve Cooper’s side.

Nottingham Forest don’t have an option or obligation to buy the Costa Rican. As it stands, he will have to return to Paris after his loan spell in England. His contract at PSG expires in 2024 and Duluc believes the goalkeeper has to find a new club in the summer.

“If it’s to relive a season where it’s close-up on Navas every time Donnarumma concedes a goal, it’s going to be tedious. It’s over. He hasn’t really had a good season with [Nottingham] Forest. Let’s not exaggerate,” he said.

On April 12th, Navas had expressed his desire to play for Club América. Three days later, the Mexican side’s manager, Fernando Ortiz, opened the door for the stopper to arrive at the club.

It’ll be interesting to see where Navas will play next season.
