Last week, Bild reported Chelsea secretly carried Christopher Nkunku’s medical tests in Frankfurt towards the end of August.

On Monday, The Athletic stated the forward has signed a pre-contract with the Blues to join them next summer.

This report is relayed by Sky Deutschland, who then provide their own information on this case. They state Chelsea want to sign the 24-year-old.

With regards to the claim of the France international signing a pre-contract with Graham Potter’s side, Sky state this is not true. This doesn’t mean the potential deal will not take shape.

Sky transfer expert Florian Plettenberg explains the west London club are keen to secure the player’s services.

“However, Chelsea really want him. There are talks and negotiations. Chelsea are doing everything they can to sign him in 2023,” Plettenberg said.

It’s claimed the attacker has not made a final decision on his future and hasn’t given his word to Chelsea yet over a transfer.

Back in June, Nkunku signed a new contract with the Bundesliga side until 2026. This has a €60m release clause that will be valid from next summer.

He has managed eight goals and an assist from 12 matches this season.
