The Swedish media today shares some news on the future of Sheffield United loanee Ismaila Coulibaly.
While the midfielder spends a loan spell at AIK, it’s already been said that the Stockholm club are unlikely to be able to buy him at the end of the season.
Now as Fotboll Direkt shares a story about the 23-year-old, it’s claimed that Sheffield United may actually make the situation a lot easier.
The outlet claims that Chris Wilder doesn’t want Coulibaly back in the Blades’ squad, and the club also want to get rid of his salary.
That’s why Sheffield United are said to be considering buying out his contract, making him a free agent for the transfer window.
We must say this manoeuvre is a little rare in football, so it sounds likely they could just let him move for free to any club that agrees personal terms with him.
Coulibaly joined AIK back in February, and only has eight appearances for the club so far. We’ll see if his performances will be enough to convince them to keep him, with potentially a path opening for the permanent signing.
