Are you surprised that Kalidou Koulibaly is being linked with a big money move to Chelsea mere hours after he scored the winning goal against Juventus to help Napoli close to gap with the Turin side to just one point?

We aren’t.

According to Il Mattino, Naples’ local newspaper, Antonio Conte’s side are readying a €75m move for the Senegalese defender in the summer to bring him to Stamford Bridge, an amount the Serie A side would find very hard to turn down.

That figure isn’t new, as it’s been a recurring one over the years, with Koulibaly’s agent even coming out a couple of years ago to laugh at it.

Of course, now, things have changed and we live in a transfer market where such a sum of money isn’t even eyebrow raising anymore, especially for a defender of the Chelsea target’s quality.

Il Mattino explain Aurelio de Laurentiis is readying himself for a summer assault as clubs come knocking for his players by ‘erecting a wall’, even though he knows he won’t be able to resist all of them.

Either way, this is just the beginning, so brace yourselves.
