Oliver Glasner has had an immediate impact at Crystal Palace, with the Austria media saying this week that’s because the manager put in a lot of preparation work before he landed in London to take on the Premier League club.
The 49-year-old has brought a renewed optimism to the Eagles with genuine excitement for the remainder of the season and what can come after that.
Crystal Palace will be a far more attractive prospect in the transfer market as a club which looks like it’s going somewhere under a manager who looks like a rising star.
Friday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport pushes one potential signing forward and that’s Daichi Kamada. The 27-year-old moved to Lazio in the summer as a free agent, arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt where he’d worked under Glasner.
Since moving to Lazio, the midfielder has made 33 appearances, although a lot of those have been as a substitute.
Corriere dello Sport report there’s interest from both the Bundesliga and Premier League, but the player has no intention of returning to German football.
Kamada only signed a one year deal, with the option to extend it by three years. The Italian newspaper therefore suggest the future lies in the player’s hands.
The real ‘temptation’ is said to be coming from the Premier League, where it’s said Crystal Palace are ‘seriously trying’ to sign him
Kamada himself is calm and hasn’t yet made a decision on his future. Given the Glasner connection, Crystal Palace likely have some optimism.
