Despite Graham Potter seemingly on his way to turning things around, Chelsea are still planning for a potential future without him, following claims from Germany they were looking at Julian Nagelsmann.

The Englishman replaced Thomas Tuchel earlier this year, and was tasked with making the most of an extensive squad, which he struggled to do to begin with.

Chelsea have since found form, but it’s now being reported that there has been some contact with Nagelsmann, with journalist Rudy Galetti taking to Twitter to reveal the latest.

He claims there have been ‘first positive contacts’ between the German manager and ‘some Chelsea representatives’.

As things stand, the former Bayern Munich man is one of the London club’s ‘main options’ for next season alongside Luis Enrique should they decide to part ways with Graham Potter either in the near future or at the end of the season.

Chelsea currently sit 10th in the Premier League with 38 points after 27 games, 11 points behind fourth placed Tottenham, who have themselves played 28 times.

Nagelsmann was recently sacked by Bayern Munich despite winning all eight of their games in the Champions League and being just one point behind Borussia Dortmund in the league.
