With Julian Nagelsmann being pushed out by Bayern Munich and Antonio Conte leaving Tottenham Hotspur in such a short space of time, that was a perfect excuse for the German boss to be linked to the Spurs job.

However, when speaking of pursuits for top managers, we should all remember that Graham Potter hasn’t had a great time since his arrival at Chelsea this season, and his position at Stamford Bridge may be open soon.

This scenario is today covered by Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, who, on Twitter, shares some news on Nagelsmann’s future.

He claims that the manager is indeed ‘on the shortlist’ that Chelsea have in case Potter is sacked.

However, there’s no such certainty that the Englishman will leave the Blues. Plettenberg writes that the club ‘want to continue’ with him, as ‘the bosses support him’. So the only thing he needs to do to keep his job is to ‘deliver now’.

That may meet Nagelsmann’s requirements for his new work, because according to the report, the German coach is ‘unlikely’ to take a new job immediately.

That claim should also work for Tottenham, who obviously need a replacement for Antonio Conte.

On Monday, German newspaper Bild wrote that Spurs are on Nagelsmann’s list, as he finds the opportunity to take that job ‘attractive’ and ‘would be tempted’ by the Premier League.

Now with Chelsea possibly battling Tottenham, we could see an interesting fight to see who brings him to London.
