As Italian outlet Citta Celeste today features a piece speaking about Lazio goalkeeper Luís Maximiano, they bring a couple of interesting claims for Nottingham Forest fans.

The outlet points out that with the 24-year-old barely getting any chances to play lately, he’s one of the athletes who could leave the club in the summer.

Citta Celeste reveals that Maximiano already had a chance to move from Lazio, and that was in January, when Nottingham Forest made an offer for him.

The Reds reportedly put ‘important millions’ on the table to sign the Portuguese goalkeeper, and that would have allowed Lazio to recover the €10m they spent to sign him last summer.

The problem is that manager Maurizio Sarri stepped in to block the transfer, as he was worried about not having that alternative in the squad.

The summer scenario, however, should be different. It’s claimed that the manager will not ‘oppose’ to Maximiano’s departure in the summer, even because the club already have a couple of alternatives to replace him.

So if Nottingham Forest are still interested when Keylor Navas returns to Paris Saint-Germain, that may be a good chance.
