Norwich City are in the fight to sign Niclas Eliasson, according to claims from Sweden.

Following recent rumours about the 28-year-old’s future, outlet Fotboll Direkt today features a story to clarify some recent claims.

First speaking about the clubs who’ve been recently linked to the midfielder, it’s said while Nantes, PSV and Norwich City stand in the race, Brazilian club Grêmio are ‘not in the picture at all’.

Regarding the price to take Eliasson out of AEK, it had been said it could take €8.5m to sign him this summer, but Fotboll Direkt’s information claims something between €4m and €5m would be enough.

AEK’s desire is to keep the player, though, and he’s happy there as well. The big problem now is that he’d like a pay raise, since he’s been showing good form there and his current contract isn’t really up to date with his impact in the team.

It should then be up to the interested clubs to place an attractive offer, and we shall see if Norwich City will make a real attempt for the 29-year-old.
