Chelsea are ‘ahead’ of the competition for Inter Milan midfielder Cesare Casadei and ‘unlikely to lose’ in the race for his signature.

That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the player has made the decision to move to England this summer.

The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for the youngster over the last few weeks and are looking to take advantage of their relationship with the Italian side to get a deal over the line.

They face competition from Nice and Sassuolo for his signature but according to CDS, Casadei wants to move to Stamford Bridge.

Thus, talks with Chelsea are set to ‘enter even more into the heart’ of the matter from Tuesday onwards.

Inter’s aim is to reach a deal worth €15m with bonuses or convince the Blues to include a percentage on a future resale.

They would, ideally, like for there to be a buyback option but Chelsea aren’t interested in that and it would only be possible to get that if they were to sell to Sassuolo.

Casadei ‘wants to fly to England’, though, and it seems there’s now a confidence the deal will be done sooner rather than later.
