Brighton and Hove Albion have lowered their €15m asking price for Neal Maupay to €14m in an attempt to seal a deal with Salernitana.

That’s according to Tutto Salernitana, who say Brighton are very much pushing for the transfer to happen.

Reports over the last week have made it clear that Salernitana are keen on Maupay as they look to add to their forward line this summer.

Talks with Brighton have been underway but reports yesterday made it clear that the two clubs were yet to agree on a price.

That was because Brighton had put a €15m asking price on Maupay, a figure that Salernitana considered excessive, forcing them to look elsewhere.

Tutto Salernitana follow that up today and say Brighton have changed their demands for the striker.

The ‘ultimatum’ they put on the deal has now expired and yesterday they ‘tried to reopen negotiations’ by lowering their demands. They’ve decided to drop their asking price by €1m to €14m for the French striker.

Whether that’s a price Salernitana are now willing to pay isn’t mentioned but we’d assume it isn’t and they’ll want more of a discount.

Either way, it seems Brighton are keen on selling Maupay and even open to lowering their demands to make a transfer happen this summer.
