Earlier today, we covered reports from Brazil which said that Manchester City have made a €43m offer for Grêmio forward Everton.

Pep Guardiola’s reported chase has been in the Brazilian press for quite a while now. In the past few months, the story got so big that the player himself has commented on it several times.

Now a new update arises today, this time coming from Rádio Gaúcha, which is based in Porto Alegre, the same city as Grêmio.

They claim that Manchester City have watched Everton at least 15 times in the past few months.

It’s said that club scouts have assessed the player in the last 15 fixtures of the Brazilian league, in home and away games.

The job has also been done in the Copa Libertadores, where Grêmio got to the semifinals and lost to tournament winners River Plate.

However, Gaúcha claims that City have made no bids so far.

They say European clubs should now start preparing for the winter window, since the Champions League group stage is getting to an end. It’s claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side could be making an attempt from the 20th of December. This last claim sounds much more like an assumption than the real information they’ve got, though.
