A lot has been written over the past few weeks, mostly because of the Spanish press, about Eden Hazard’s future at Chelsea and a possible move to Real Madrid.
Of course, most teams around Europe would love to have someone of the Belgian’s ilk in their team, and that’s why the 26-year-old’s name is always seen next to huge hypothetical transfer sums.
The reason behind this is the Chelsea star’s ability to drift past players almost at will, as well as occasionally finding the final ball for a teammate or the back of the opponent’s goal.
In a long interview with France Football, the player spent most of his time discussing his love for dribbling, eventually revealing the skill he prefers to execute the most, at least when the opportunity presents itself.
He said: “The nutmeg is the most beautiful one. I don’t like the term ‘humiliating’, but for a player to be on the wrong end of a nutmeg, it hurts him. It’s finesse. A step over, that’s more to accelerate. A rabona, that’s for fun.“I’ve done about twenty in my life, and only one actually did something. That’s for the fans, that’s what they like to see. They come for stuff like that.”
Hazard then went on to describe his relationship with the ball.
He said: “Yes, sometimes I caress it, but when I dribble, it’s a bit harder? When I shoot, yes, I can caress it like Henry when he opened his foot. What’s great is that I can do everything, and the ball takes all sorts of personalities. I can treat it like a woman, take it like a man, like an old guy (laughs).”
The Chelsea forward has been in fine form under Antonio Conte this season, scoring 11 goals and picking up six assists in 32 appearances in all competitions.
