A few days ago, when covering the Mattia Perin stories, we saw Gazzetta Dello Sport saying the player wasn’t very convinced by Aston Villa’s last offer.

Despite recent reports saying the goalkeeper was ‘keen’ on the move, it seemed like the numbers shown by the Premier League side weren’t attractive enough.

Now Aston Villa could be making a new attempt, according to Italian website Tutto Mercato Web this Monday.

Speaking of Perin’s situation, they say Monaco remain ‘vigilant’, and Villa will present a new offer in the ‘next few days’.

Tutto Mercato Web doesn’t make it very clear if Aston Villa’s improved offer will be made to Juventus or to the player, but given those recent claims, we assume they’re working on convincing the 26-year-old.

Perín’s transfer to Benfica has collapsed due to injury, and since not many clubs will be focused on signing him, Juventus can’t be demanding a lot.

Previous reports said Villa would pay €15m.
