According to a claim in the Greek media, Middlesbrough are interested in signing Torino attacker Lucas Boye.

The 23 year old spent last season on loan at Greek side AEK and has been linked with a return to the Athens club. However, Sdna say Middlesbrough are also looking to bring in the Argentine.

Jonathan Woodgate’s side will face Luton Town on Friday night for their first game of the Championship season, and it’s reported they are keen to sign the forward as they look to battle as high up the table as possible.

Middlesbrough will have to act quickly to snap up the player with the English transfer window closing on the 8th August, giving AEK an advantage over the English side. It’s reported Boro will be able meet Torino’s demands and the Italian side are likely to be looking for a permanent deal because of the player’s contract situation.

AEK are again in the picture for Boye after the player impressed for them last season, scoring 6 goals in the league.

The former River Plate player has only a year left on his contract with the Serie A side.
