Aston Villa are showing an interest in Oguzhan Ozyakup, according to claims in the Turkish media. The Turkey international will be out of contract in June 2018, and has been linked with a move to England.

Turkish newspaper CNN Turkey has claimed Aston Villa will send an official to the game between Besiktas and Lyon on Thursday night to monitor Ozyakup.

The Besiktas star has been getting attention from several clubs across Europe because of his contract situation, and along with Aston Villa the player is being followed by Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04, Hannover, Stuttgart, Wolfsburg, PSV, Twente and Anderlecht.

Aston Villa will also face competition from the Premier League, with Everton, Southampton and West Ham United all reported to be attending this weeks’ game to watch the player.

With Aston Villa failing to bounce back to the Premier League they will find it difficult convincing Ozyakup to play in the Championship, given the interest from top flight English and European clubs.
