Galatasaray CEO Cenk Ergun has spoken to Fanatik about the reported interest in his player Bruma. The Portuguese international has been receiving attention mainly from Tottenham Hotspur and Galatasaray’s board are now waiting anxiously on Bruma’s decision over renewal.

There were claims yesterday Galatasaray are prepared to sell Bruma following reports Tottenham had an agreement to sign the youngster, but Cenk Ergun has said otherwise: ”We have changed the schedule of contract talks with him. Previously we are ready to discuss the contract at the end of the season, but now we’ll talk with his agent after the derby (against Fenerbahce 23rd April).”

Ergun also said: ”Bruma is happy for now and his mind is clear. He’s only thinking about the derby. It’s the biggest game of the season for the players and he only thinks about the game. He’s no different than his team mates. We’ll talk about it after the game.”

Bruma and Galatasaray have so far failed to reach an agreement over new a contract because of his wage demands. Currently earning €1.2m per season, the Tottenham target supposedly wants this increasing to €2.4m.

Both parties will continue to talk and if they fail to reach an agreement Tottenham could look to take advantage of the situation.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly keen to sign Bruma, and the longer the player’s contract discussions drag on the more confident Spurs should be about a possible deal.
