Youri Tielemans transfer price is expected to drop before the end of the window, with Leicester City likely to accept a sale and Arsenal keen on him.

That’s according to Het Nieuwsblad who say the Gunners ‘seem charmed’ by the Belgian and likely to make a move before the window closes.

They explain that this week will be the ‘week of truth’ for Tielemans, who only has a year left on his contract with Leicester.

He’s not shown any indications he will be signing a new deal and so ‘it is expected’ that Leicester’s asking price for him will drop before the window closes.

So far Brendan Rodgers and co. have asked for €45m plus for the midfielder as they try to recoup the fee, they paid Monaco for him in 2019 and potentially make a profit.

However, that figure has proven to be hard to obtain with suitors, such as Arsenal, considering it ‘far too high’.

That’s an attitude they may not be able to maintain as they window comes to a close, though, as they would not want to see Tielemans leave on a free in a year’s time either.

Thus, they’ll have to lower their demands.

If his price drops to the €20-25m range, then the interested clubs ‘can/will jump back into the dance’ and Arsenal are likely to be among them.

For the moment the midfielder is ‘zen’ about the situation as he believes he is still in a ‘strong position’.

While he and his family are happy in Leicester, he is looking for a new and bigger sporting challenge this summer.

If he can’t secure it, he ‘does not seem inclined’ to sign a new deal.

The final week of the window will be an ‘exciting’ one for him, then, with Leicester likely to drop their demands and Arsenal ready to pounce if they do.
