Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in a deal for Ajax star Ryan Gravenberch amid his continued rise at the Dutch club.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say the Gunners are ‘monitoring’ the midfielder ahead of a potential move.

The website explains that Gravenberch has become one of the ‘most coveted’ young players in Europe, with all the big clubs following in his footsteps.

The Dutchman is seen as a player who is very similar to Paul Pogba in that he is comfortable playing at the base of the midfield or further up on the edge of the opposition box.

He has a ‘dominant physique’ and offers a ‘lot of mobility’ to a team, and the likes of Arsenal see him as an ‘interesting bet’ to reinforce their midfield as they continue ‘rejuvenating’ their squads.

Ajax are obviously not keen on losing another of their prized assets but have set a €75m price on Gravenberch’s head regardless.

That’s a price similar to what they got from Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong, but they can comfortably ask for more as he has a contract until 2024, so they are protected on that front.

Whether Arsenal would be willing to pay such a price isn’t mentioned, although their big spending this summer suggests they’re not opposed to doing so.

If they do make a move, they’ll have plenty of competition, with Juventus, Chelsea, Barcelona, and Tottenham also named as clubs who are ‘eyeing him’.
