Tottenham are one of several clubs in Europe ‘monitoring’ Ajax youngster Ryan Gravenberch as he continues to shine for the Dutch giants.

That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say that Gravenberch has turned into one of the ‘most coveted young players’ in Europe.

They liken the midfielder to Paul Pogba, that is a player who is comfortable playing at the base of the midfield and further up on the edge of the opposition box.

His ‘dominant physique’ and ‘mobility’ are both seen as major plus points and factors that make him ideal for the modern game.

It’s something the big sides in Europe have all taken notice of, with Gravenberch now the ‘pearl in everyone’s eye’ according to Fichajes.

They say he is ‘coveted’ by all the big clubs in Europe, including Juventus, Chelsea and Barcelona, who are ‘eying him’ to bolster their squads for next season.

They’re not the only the ones keen, though, with Arsenal and Tottenham also ‘monitoring’ him because they believe he would be an ‘interesting bet’ to continue rejuvenating their squads.

Ajax obviously don’t want to lose another of their key players and are protected by the fact he’s signed to a deal until 2024, so have set a €75m asking price on his head.

Whether Tottenham would pay such an amount isn’t mentioned, but it’s a big figure, and it’s hard to see Daniel Levy digging that deep.

We could be wrong on that front, of course, but for the meantime, Gravenberch is certainly a name to keep a close eye on.
