Nice-Matin has a Friday article on several controversial issues at Nice, including an offer made for Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos.

Steven Gerrard has already made it clear this week that he’s not happy with the idea of an approach for his player, but that doesn’t seem to have completely killed things for the French club.

Nice-Matin say that during the club’s Thursday press conference, fans from the Populaire Sud group barged in and made warning of further mobilisation if things didn’t change for the better.

Manager Patrick Vieira has asked for several players and failed to get the backing of the club’s board. The newspaper says, according to their own information, that Vieira wasn’t even consulted before Nice formulated a €10m offer for Morelos, which it seems wouldn’t be enough for Rangers and Gerrard anyway.

Even if the Scottish Premiership club were open to sale, the player may feel reluctant.

He’s repeatedly stated he’s happy to learn from Gerrard at Rangers, and that may be preferable to moving to a club where the manager didn’t even know he was a target.
