Loaned for the season, Jonny Otto has become a rather integral part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans at Molineux this campaign.

The Atlético Madrid full-back has started all 19 Premier League games he’s been fit for, and Thursday saw news emerge from Spain that Wolverhampton Wanderers could make the deal permanent.

This was confirmed by multiple outlets on Friday, as the La Liga club are trying to get a deal over the line to make some salary space for Alvaro Morata.

Seemingly confirming all of this is a mixture of Mundo Deportivo and O Jogo, explaining Atlético are interested in Porto’s Alex Telles.

The Portuguese outlet state the Spaniards have made the Brazilian ‘their target’ to bolster the fullback positions next season, which would cost them around €40m (the amount of his release clause).

Mundo Deportivo picked this up, and stated that since Filipe Luis isn’t expected to stay in Madrid beyond this season and Jonny could be transferred to make way for Alvaro Morata, Atlético know they need to bring in reinforcements.

First, however, we need to wait and see whether this news about Wolverhampton’s loanee is true, especially since he expected to continue his career in Spain after this season.
