On July 14th, we relayed news from Spain that Nico González’s agent has offered him to Wolverhampton Wanderers. It was also said he will push for a transfer if there’s no assurance of regular game time at Barcelona next season.

The 21-year-old has returned to the Camp Nou after spending last season on loan at Valencia.

Mundo Deportivo state he’s already held talks with Xavi Hernández and the two have agreed that an ‘exit is the best thing’ for the midfielder, which is why he won’t be part of the pre-season squad for the trip to the US.

It’s said González’s agent is handling offers from clubs from Spain, Portugal and England. Wolves are the only English club mentioned in the report.

The Spain U21 international has ‘aroused interest’ from Julen Loptegui’s side, Real Betis and FC Porto. The newspaper states Porto are the most interested team and their proposal is ‘more advanced’.

Mundo say Porto, along with Wolves and Manuel Pellegrini’s side, are now ‘waiting for an answer’ from the player on his next destination.

González’s deal lasts until 2026 and the report states Barca are ready to let him leave on a loan deal or through a sale with a buyback option.
