Reported Arsenal target Oguzhan Ozyakup’s future is up in the air due to his demands over a new contract with Besiktas, report Fanatik.

The Arsenal academy graduate has been linked with a move back to the Gunners in recent weeks, and his contract with the Turkish champions will expire in 3 months.

Fanatik claim Ozyakup has asked for €3m per season and a €2.5m signing on fee to extend his contract, and his demands have been swiftly rejected by Besiktas president Fikret Orman.

The Turkish newspaper say Besiktas are only willing to offer €2.5m per season to their captain, and Orman will meet with him face to face after the international break.

These latest developments will give Arsenal a boost in their pursuit of Ozyakup after reportedly having a €7m bid turned down by Besiktas in the last transfer window.

Last month it was reported Arsene Wenger is still keen to bring the Turkey international back to the Emirates, and this time Arsenal will be able to land him on a free transfer.

Ozyakup has played a key role in Besiktas’ back to back championship in the last two seasons, but his form has dipped in this campaign.
