West Ham United’s Lucas Paquetá has been summoned to testify at the Gaming at Betting CPI in Brazil and will appear in front of them on 29 October.

That’s according to Ge Globo, who report that the CPI for the Manipulation of Games and Sports Betting have summoned the West Ham man to speak to them as an investigation into the player and his family continues.

He was charged earlier this year by the FA for allegedly getting booked deliberately on three separate occasions in matches from 2022/23 season. That has since been increased to four separate games.

The midfielder is also part of a wide-ranging investigation in his home country, with him and his extended family being looked at by authorities. Indeed, a report yesterday stated his uncle, and a Brazilian businesswoman had been summoned to testify.

Now it is Paquetá’s turn, with GE Globo reporting that the player ‘will be heard’ by the CPI for Manipulation of Games and Sports Betting on 29 October.

This was today announced by president of the CPI, senator Jorge Kajuru. The West Ham man will testify on the same day as influencer Deolane Bezerra, the businesswoman summoned alongside Paquetá’s uncle.

Paquetá’s entourage have refused to comment on the matter, but the player has consistently protested his innocence since the charges from the FA were made public.
