Napoli should forget about a move for Tottenham defender Radu Drăgușin, and instead sign Sergio Ramos on a free transfer.
That’s according to journalist Enrico Fedele, via Area Napoli, who believes the veteran defender would be a smarter choice for Antonio Conte’s side than the Tottenham defender.
Napoli have been busy in the transfer window since Conte arrived as manager in the summer, spending €149.5m on various transfers in the summer to reshape the squad for him.
There has been a particular focus on the Premier League, with Scott McTominay arriving from Manchester United, Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea and Billy Gilmour from Brighton and Hove Albion.
Their future transfer interests could lie in England too, with recent reports indicating that they may try to sign Radu Drăgușin Tottenham.
He’s been struggling for gametimes since joining Spurs in a €25m move from Genoa in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old is very much behind Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in the pecking order and has only started one game, the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle, in the Premier League this season.
He would perhaps welcome a return to Italy should Napoli offer it, but Fedele doesn’t think they should.
“Would I think about Radu Dragusin, who plays little at Tottenham? Too young, I would go for someone experienced,” he said on the Marte Sport Live programme.
“Who? It’s a former Real Madrid: Sergio Ramos. Hasn’t played for months? He would come to bring his character traits; he would do like Burgnich of the past. In Napoli I don’t see charismatic players, like Reina and Albiol could have been in the past, for example.”
