Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Julio Enciso has detailed how he passed out on a flight to link up with Paraguay for this international break.
Del Paraguay cover the player today and his recent post on social media, in which he details the event and appears to laugh it all off.
Enciso is a part of the Paraguay squad for this break in which they take on Ecuador and Venezuela in World Cup qualifying.
The first of those games are set to take place on Thursday and the Brighton man recently flew out from England to link up with his nation ahead of the game.
He’s had something of a slow start to the season with the Seagulls so far, managing just 229 minutes across seven appearances in the Premier League and EFL Cup so far.
Unlike at Brighton he will likely be a key player for Paraguay, who he’s made 19 appearances for since making his debut in June 2021.
It appears the international break has had started off on the wrong foot, though, as his flight to Ecuador for the game was particularly eventful for the 20-year-old.
“My head hurts. I almost died, I fainted on the plane,” he said.
“I was powerless, I didn’t eat or sleep well. At one point I got up to go to the bathroom and I felt like I was falling.
“A guy grabbed me and took me to the front; He made me drink coke and a Japanese soup and that did me good.”
