Derby County summer signing Jacob Widell Zetterström has told the Swedish media that it’s a pleasure to play for the Championship side.

The goalkeeper joined the Rams from Djurgårdens IF during the last transfer window and he’s currently away on international duty with Sweden.

Expressen have covered comments Widell Zetterström made in a press conference ahead of his country’s UEFA Nations League clash with Slovakia tomorrow night.

The 26-year-old was asked about his short time at Derby County and the player said the fans have been incredible whether it be at home or away.

“It’s an incredible group of supporters, I must say, it’s full every home game and every single away game you hear them the most. It’s a fantastic support and it doesn’t just apply to me; it applies to all players. They are incredibly fun to play for,” said the Swede.

With Aston Villa’s Robin Olsen again ruled out of this international break due to injury, Widell Zetterström and Stoke City’s Viktor Johansson are both in contention to start the game against Slovakia.

Last month the Stoke City player got the nod for Sweden’s victories over Estonia and Azerbaijan, but Jon Dahl Tomasson has yet to reveal who his number one will be for the next two games.

Widell Zetterström has yet to make his competitive debut for his country, but did play in a friendly against Iceland last year.
