Normally Arsenal’s area of expertise in the past, it seems France has become the main area targeted by Manchester City in their bid to find the up and coming stars to fill their academy with.

Linked with attempts to sign Marseille’s Boubacar Kamara, as well as the Paris Saint-Germain pair Dan-Axel Zagadou and Mickaël Cuisance, the Citizens also have an eye on a young Rennes prodigy, according to beIN Sports in France.

The French media outlet claim Pep Guardiola’s side have been tracking the progress of Denis-Will Poha, who is yet to make a league appearance for the Ligue 1 side, yet that doesn’t mean he’s lacking experience.

The 19-year-old was part of the France U19 side crowned European champions last summer, alongside familiar names such as Kylian Mbappé or Jean-Kevin Augustin, and has also played an entire Coupe de la Ligue game for Rennes this season.

Clearly easing him slowly into their first-team, Rennes will be aware of any interest the youngster is attracting, and with a contract keeping him at the club until 2019, they have a small safety net to fall back on.

Whether the Premier League side decide to make a move in the summer remains to be seen, but if clubs of Manchester City’s magnitude are interested in what you are doing on a football pitch, you’re clearly doing something right.
