Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior is considered a ‘strong candidate’ by Napoli as they prioritise strengthening their defence in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Televomero, relayed by Area Napoli, who say the Polish defender is very much on the list of candidates being looked at.
Area Napoli report that Antonio Conte wants to strengthen his defensive options in the next window and the club are working on that front.
One of the names linked is Milan Skriniar, who Paris Saint Germain will let leave for a suitable offer, as Conte has worked with him before. They face big competition from Juventus for him, though.
That’s led to the Serie A club to look at Kiwior, who has barely featured again for Arsenal this season. The 24-year-old has seven appearances totalling 321 minutes to date. Two of those were 90 minutes apiece in wins over Bolton and Preston in the EFL Cup.
The belief is that Arsenal could sell him if a ‘fair offer comes in’ and that makes him a ‘strong candidate’ for Napoli. They will again face competition from Juventus, though, as they also have their eye on him.
In fact, they are potentially looking for two defensive signings and that could see both Skriniar and Kiwior arrive if they decide to go down that route.
Either way, the Arsenal defender has options and looks likely to be a name we’ll see plenty of in January.
