Burnley are continuing their negotiations with VfB Stuttgart forward Darko Churlinov, with them currently leading the race for his signature.

That’s according to SportBILD chief reporter Tobi Altschäffl, who says Anderlecht only have ‘outsider chances’ of signing him at this moment in time.

Burnley have been linked with a move for the Stuttgart man this month, with Vincent Kompany keen to improve his forward line this summer.

Their interest in the 22-year-old was first reported earlier this month and then followed by claims they will still trying to get a deal over the line, with the competition pushing ahead of them as they refused to match Stuttgart’s demands.

There’s been no updates since that point but Altschäffl provides positive news on that front today.

He states that negotiations between Burnley and Stuttgart are ‘ongoing’, with the two presumably trying to agree on an asking price.

The Clarets’ chances of getting their man have been increased, though, as their main competition, Anderlecht, only have ‘outsider chances’ of getting him at the moment.

That would suggest they’re not as keen as they once were, leaving Burnley room to get their man if they can strike a deal with their German counterparts.
