Jadon Sancho remains a priority target for Manchester United this summer, a year after the Red Devils failed to sign the Borussia Dortmund star.

Three days ago, The Athletic reported the Red Devils are ‘pressing ahead with talks’ to sign the winger, as ‘expectations rise’ an agreement for the transfer can be reached. Manchester United are ideally looking to wrap up the deal before the start of Euro 2020.

Over the weekend, Sport1 explained the ‘two clubs are getting closer’ to agreeing a deal and all parties are optimistic an agreement can be reached.

Dortmund based newspaper Ruhr Nachrichten relay claims made in England about the efforts made by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side to sign the 21-year-old and then provide their own information on this case.

BVB have already completed the signing of Gregor Kobel and further additions will only be considered after they manage to raise funds through player sales.

It’s claimed the England international’s exit will be the ‘main driver’ of the Bundesliga side’s transfer activities as they should obtain around €95m from his sale.

Regarding the Old Trafford club’s interest in Sancho, Ruhr Nachrichten state there’s ‘still not been any official contact’ from United’s representatives, which ‘could also be due to the fact that the framework for an agreement is openly on the table’.

Sancho is currently preparing for the European championship with England. Even if he shines in the continental competition, the report states the possibility of more clubs approaching BVB ‘would not be expected’.

It’s to be noted Ruhr Nachrichten only explained Manchester United have not made any official contact with Dortmund because recent reports suggested the Manchester based club have started talks with BVB to sign Sancho.
