There was a time when Gyrano Kerk was a wanted man in Yorkshire.
The Dutch winger, currently contracted to FC Utrecht, was a reported target of Marcelo Bielsa’s at Leeds United in the summer, with it being claimed the Premier League side were ‘approaching an agreement’ for his services.
The transfer never went through, however, and the forward, despite being a regular at the Eredivisie side, hasn’t hit the heights that first caught the Elland Road scouting team’s attention.
It’s explained Kerk ‘seems to be standing still in his development’, and has manifested as ‘anything but a team player’.
The article then adds ‘perhaps Leeds United and Cagliari look back without much regret at the failure of transfer talks in the summer’.
That seems to be the case, and while there’s still time to turn things around, the Premier League club seems to have firmly moved on these days.
