Turkish newspaper Karar claim Rangers will make an offer for Steven Gerrard target Caleb Ekuban, but they could face competition from AC Milan.
The former Leeds United man is enjoying life at Trabzonspor and has been putting in some impressive performances for the Super Lig leaders.
Karar say Gerrard wants to see Ekuban in his team next season but Milan are also following the progress of the Ghanaian striker. With Jermain Defoe’s contract expiring in the summer the Ibrox side may need to evaluate their attacking options.
It’s claimed Rangers will offer €9m to Trabzonspor for the player but the Turkish club will hold off on any possible transfer talks due to the current situation in Europe
Karadeniz Firtinasi only paid €1m to sign the player permanently from Leeds United last summer after an impressive loan spell. He carried this form into this season despite a couple of injury setbacks.
Ekuban has made 25 appearances for Trabzonspor this season and scored eight goals. His contract with the club will expire at the end of June 2022.
