Derby County have reignited their interest in Fenerbahce’s young attacking midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu, claims Turkish website Fotospor.
The Championship side were linked with the Dutch U21 international during the January transfer window, but it was reported at the time that they didn’t want to pay the Super Lig side’s asking price.
Despite their initial disappointment, Fotospor report Derby County are planning to make another offer for the 20 year old and this time they are hoping that Fenerbahce will demand a reasonable fee for the former NEC Nijmegen player.
Rams manager Phillip Cocu was in charge of Fenerbahce last season and was the main reason the Turkish club signed the player for €1.4m.
It’s claimed Cocu has asked the Derby County board to make another move for Kadioglu and both clubs will hold talks in the near future.
Kadioglu has made 22 appearances for Fenerbahce in all competitions this season and scored four goals. His contract with the Istanbul club will expire at the end of June 2022.
