Real Mallorca are waiting on Watford to provide them with a ‘medical discharge’ to allow Cucho Hernández to finally play for the club.
Hernández joined Mallorca on a season-long loan deal in the summer after it was made clear he wasn’t part of the Hornets’ plans for this season.
He has yet to actually play for the Spanish side, though, spending the last few months battling back to fitness after undergoing surgery to try and solve a hamstring injury he suffered last season.
It seems he is on the verge of finally making his debut, though, with Diario de Mallorca claiming it is now just a case of Watford providing permission.
According to the website, Watford did not provide a medical discharge for the striker last weekend, but one is expected to arrive for him ‘in the next few hours’ so that he can face Barcelona this weekend.
Hernández has been training ‘normally’ for more than a week and is so eager to get going that Mallorca’s staff have had to stop him because of the ‘effusivity and desire’ he put into training.
Indeed, he was in the squad last weekend but had to be taken out last minute because of Watford’s refusal to grant him a medical discharge. However, his ‘moment seems to have arrived’, and it appears the club are expecting Watford to declare him fit.
Mallorca are hoping Hernández can provide them with the goals they need, although they are keen to not rush him back and will instead ensure his ‘incorporation will take place gradually’.
Nonetheless, it seems he is raring to go, and it’s now in Watford’s hands as to when their player finally gets to play for his new club.
