Tottenham Hotspur‘s Richarlison is ready to take FIFA action to end his time with the Premier League side immediately.
The Brazil international is in limbo after failing to secure a move away from Spurs in the summer window.
Last month, Roberto De Zerbi confirmed the player had asked to leave Tottenham. A return to Everton was on the cards, but the move didn’t go through.
The forward then attracted interest from Trabzonspor, where the window was open until last Friday. However, he wasn’t able to secure a move to Turkey while De Zerbi left him out of his Premier League squad.
Tottenham man attracting Brazil interest

The Brazilian window remains open until Friday, where both Vasco da Gama and Atlético Mineiro made approaches.
Vasco manager Pedro Emanuel was cryptic yesterday when asked whether his side will sign Richarlison.
Tottenham Hotspur have reached their limit and can no longer send a player out on loan. They would also seek for a sale as the 29-year-old’s contract expires in 2027.
On Wednesday, Sport Witness covered a report from Brazil explaining Vasco are exploring different formulas to sign him on a permanent deal.
Richarlison forcing Tottenham exit
Brazilian journalist Raisa Simplicio took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a big update on his immediate future.
Roberto De Zerbi removing the player from the Premier League squad and demoting him to Spurs U21s is a key issue. Richarlison is unhappy and wants to end his time with Spurs immediately by terminating his contract.
Simplicio states: ‘I just spoke with someone from Richarlison’s staff who confirmed that the player notified Tottenham about filing a unilateral termination request with FIFA.’
Renan Lodi took the same route to end his time with Al-Hilal. The left-back joined the Saudi club in January 2024. Al-Hilal left him out of the squad for the 2025/26 season because of their foreign player limit.
He unilaterally terminated his contract in September 2025 and joined Atlético Mineiro in December.
Brazilian can jeopardise Spurs exit

Canal do Pedrosa took to X to share an update from journalist Lucas Pedrosa. He says Vasco da Gama were optimistic about closing the transfer after a meeting on Wednesday.
The two clubs were close to an agreement before the player decided to unilaterally terminate his contract.
His decision came as a surprise to the Brazilian club. This could now end up ‘derailing the negotiations’ because Spurs have no intention of letting him leave for free.
He states: ‘Spurs feels legally protected and believes it has provided the Brazilian forward with the necessary working conditions.’
‘Another point the reporter heard from lawyers involved in the deal was that the chance of Richarlison securing a contract termination under these terms is ‘very slim,’ which would make the forward’s arrival unfeasible.’
For now, Spurs haven’t rejected the offer while Vasco, who aren’t in favour of contract termination, didn’t withdraw their interest. However, the negotiations have stalled.
Pedrosa ends his report by stating: ‘Today, despite the request to terminate his contract, sources involved in the deal believe that the outcome is largely in the hands of the Brazilian forward, since it would make no difference whether he joins Vasco as a free agent or is sold at this point.’
‘The saga, which seemed to be heading toward a happy ending, promises to unfold new chapters over the next two days. The Brazilian transfer window closes on September 11.’
